Capiz’s biggest public library opens in Ivisan
ROXAS CITY – The biggest public library in Capiz is now open in Ivisan town, a report of the Philippine News Agency said.
Mayor Felipe Neri Yap said the public library was inaugurated last month to cater to the needs of students and the community not only of Ivisan but also of nearby municipalities.
Constructed inside the school campus of Ivisan Central School, the library measures about 252 square meters.
Yap said the project was realized in partnership with the Department of Education, the provincial government of Capiz and the local government of Ivisan.
He said the province through Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. shelled out some P2 million while the DepEd also provided a counterpart of P1 million.
The municipal government provided an initial P370,000 fund.
“With this public library, we are hoping that more people will have access to it and it would be of help especially to those who are conducting research work,” Yap said*
