CSC offers gov’t services at the mall
Civil Service Commission 6 Director Rodolfo Encajonado has encouraged Ilonggos especially those who have transactions with the government to take advantage of the ongoing “Government Express at the Mall” until September 16 at SM City Activity Center in Mandurriao.
A highlight of the 110th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service celebration in the region, the four-day activity includes a “one-stop shop” delivery of front-line services of participating government agencies.
The activity is anchored on the theme of this year’s celebration “In a R.A.C.E to serve: Advancing, Responsive, Accessible and Efficient Public Services.
Started as “Civil Service Goes to the Mall” in 2000 through the collaboration of the Regional Association of National Government Executives 6 and the CSC 6, the “Government Express at the Mall” is now being replicated in other regions in the country.
Encajonado said the activity was institutionalized in 2007 by the CSC through its regional offices, making it among the major activities in the annual celebration of the Philippine Civil Service.
The service-oriented activity aims to showcase government’s programs, projects and services and to inform the people that they are the government’s reason for being.
More than 30 agencies participated in this year’s activity such as the Government Service Insurance System, Department of Foreign Affairs, National Statistics Office, Department of Trade and Industry, Home Mutual Development Fund, Land Transportation Office, Commission on Higher Education, National Irrigation Administration, Ombudsman, Public Attorney’s Office, National Food Authority, Philippine Coconut Authority, and the Iloilo City government.*PIA
