Iloilo City mayor named RDC infra body chairman
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has been elected chairman of the Infrastructure Development Committee of the Regional Development Council 6, the highest policy-making body in Western Visayas.
Mabilog said he will push for more active implementation of priority development projects and investments to improve infrastructure services in the region.
The committee is co-chaired by Roberto Montelibano, president of Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The membership is composed of 28 representatives from the government and private sector.
The IDC is tasked to undertake formulation or integration and prioritization of development plans and investment programs for infrastructure development sector.
Also, the body conducts review of investment programs and budget proposals submitted by regional line agencies to ensure consistency with priority thrusts of the region.
The IDC also coordinates the implementation of activities, programs and projects related to infrastructure development sector and involving several line agencies and local government agencies.
The committee further monitors and evaluates the implementation of sectoral development plans and investment programs and assesses the performance of infrastructure development sector.
The IDC also identifies pertinent development issues and concerns as well as recommends appropriate actions including provision of technical assistance when needed.*
