Besa: I’m not hungry for power
ROXAS CITY – First District Board Member Jonathan Besa said he wants to correct the impression that he is hungry for power rather, he is hungry to serve his fellow Capiceños.
“Yes, I’m hungry. I am hungry to serve my province and my fellow Capiceños,” he said in a privilege speech during Wednesday’s session.
Besa, elected vice chairman of Provincial Board Member League of the Philippines-Western Visayas last week, reportedly earned a negative commentary from the broadcast media after some of his colleagues in Capiz, who are members of Lakas/Ugyon Kita Capiz, reportedly boycotted the election.
These colleagues are reportedly sympathizing with Board Member Emilie Ardivilla, who was supposed to run against Besa but later withdrew from the race.
In his privilege speech, Besa thanked his fellow board members who voted for him during the PBMLP election, saying that he humbly takes the new responsibilities that come with the position.
His colleagues from Capiz who voted for him include Board Members Aldwin Cruz-Am, Eduardo Magallanes, Jeffrey Layo, and Remia Fuentes-Bartolome, who was also elected director.
“Lastly, to my dear colleagues who were present during the said PBMLP election but did not participate, all I can say to all of you, I love you and thank you,” Besa added.*
