Police files case vs cabbie rob-slay men
Charges for robbery with homicide were filed against the two suspects who robbed and killed a taxi driver three weeks ago in Tigbauan town, Iloilo.
But Tigbauan Police Station chief, Insp. Abner Jordan, withheld the identities of the suspects until they are issued an arrest warrant.
Jordan said witnesses, including a companion of the two suspects, came out several days after their follow-up investigation.
One of the witnesses claimed the two suspects boarded the taxi driven by victim Felix Centino at Molo district, Iloilo City.
The suspects allegedly contracted the driver to bring them to Tigbauan town.
But when they reached Cabanbanan village in Oton town, they declared a hold-up but Centino fought back, prompting the suspects to stab the victim several times.
One of them took over the wheel.
They later dumped Centino’s body by the roadside of Brgy. Namucon, Tigbauan.
The suspects fled with the taxi, which they later abandoned at Lopez Jaena St., Jaro, Iloilo City.
Centino, 62, of Mandurriao, Iloilo City, bore more than 10 stab wounds when his body was found early morning of August 28.*
