ROXAS CITY – Mayor Angel Alan Celino has tapped successful businessmen in Manila under the “One Capiz” group to assist in the implementation of his administration’s development agenda.
Those who have contributed funds to the city government include Edgar Sia II, owner of Mang Inasal fastfood chain; Alfonso Supetran, owner of Unique Toothpaste; Geoffrey Martinez, president and CEO of Caritas Health Insurance; cosmetic surgeon Dr. Vicki Belo and several other successful businessmen in Manila.
“One Capiz” is an organization of both public and private individuals particularly in Manila, who have roots in Capiz, whose intention is to help the city government pursue its development agenda.
Celino said Sia has contributed P500,000; Supetran, P500,000; Martinez, P300,000; Belo, P50,000; and RGEMCO, P20,000.
The pledges of other individuals will be collected soon, he said.
Meanwhile, Celino said that Sia is also providing Capiceños’ livelihood by making bamboo sticks that will be supplied to Mang Inasal stores nationwide.
Mang Inasal sources 50 percent of its bamboo sticks for its chicken barbecue from Tigbauan, Iloilo while the other 50 percent, from Luzon.
However, Celino said that Sia assured him that he will now get 50 percent of his bamboo sticks supply from Roxas City instead of Luzon.*
