Provincial Board okays P7.3-M additional budget
ROXAS CITY – The Provincial Board of Capiz on its special session last Thursday approved the P7.328-million supplemental budget requested by Gov. Victor Tanco Sr.
The supplemental budget is appropriated for the payment of the salaries of casual employees, gasoline, and lubricants. Part of the budget will also go to the Provincial General Services Office, Capiz Rehabilitation Center, Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and Human Resources Management Office.
The supplemental budget went through a rough sailing before it was approved after several opposition board members from Ugyon Kita Capiz scrutinized the proposal by asking for details.
Board Member James Magbanua had moved to hold its approval in the absence of details.
After two weeks of deliberation, the supplemental budget was approved with the support of some opposition board members.
Three members of UKC, including Board Members Jeffrey Layo, Blesilda Perez-Almalbis and SK Federation President Bettina Bayot voted yes, along with
Board Members Aldwin Cruz-Am, Roberto Ignacio, Jonathan Besa, Eduardo Magallanes and Remia Fuentes-Bartolome of the Liberal Party.
Philippine Councilor’s League-Capiz President Ma. Leobeth Deslate-Delicana, who had earlier opposed the supplemental budget, eventually voted in favor of its approval.
Board Member Mimi Ardivilla of Lakas/UKC abstained.*
