BIR holds consultation on new zonal valuation
ROXAS CITY – A public hearing to upgrade the zonal valuation of real estate properties in Capiz was conducted by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office No. 72 last September 29 at the Roblee Hall of Filamer Christian University.
The hearing was attended by realtors and brokers, private land owners, representatives from the city and municipal assessors’ offices, and businessmen.
RDO No. 72 Public Information Officer Ma. Gracia Balgos said the activity solicited suggestions, objections and other opinions from the participants who provided valuable information on the different pecuniary characteristics of particular lands and domains.
The consultation was attended by Zonal Valuation Technical Committee chaired by BIR Assistant Regional Director Ma. Gracia Javier.
Other members of the Committee are Chamber of Real Estate and Builders’ Associations Inc. representative Rosalene Madero, Iloilo City Realtor’s Board president Yvonne Saplada, Land Registration Authority’s Grover Porras and National Housing Authority’s Ma. Luz Ysatan.
The first public hearing on the 2010 zonal valuation in the province was presided by BIR Regional Director Glen Geraldino and RDO No. 72 Head Gil Tabanda.
The activity ended with the agreement that the private sectors will submit a position paper on their areas of concern, Balgos said.*PIA
