National, local figures lead Orosco couple’s well-wishers
SAPIAN, CAPIZ – The 40th wedding anniversary rites of Mayor Arturo Orosco and his wife Evangeline was attended by national figures and local officials.
Among the couple’s well-wishers were former Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar, lawyer Fernando Rafanan, and former Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye.
Local officials who attended were led by Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. and Board Member Jeffrey Layo. They were joined by Mayors Joselito Escutin of Dao, Ethel Jinon of Jamindan, Felipe Neri Yap of Ivisan, Dante Bermejo of Panay, and Katherine Belo of Panitan.
Others were former 1st District Rep. Rodriquez Dadivas, former Roxas City Mayor Vicente Bermejo, and former Councilor Mark Ortiz.
On October 16, a Eucharistic celebration was held at 3 p.m. at St. Anne Parish Church in Sapian, followed by a reception at Hermana Hall of the Orosco residence.
The couple’s renewal of marriage vows was celebrated by Capiz Archbishop Onesimo Gordoncillo, D.D. as main celebrant, and Rev. Fr. Freddie Billanes, rector of St. Pius X Seminary, as homilist.
Some 40 priests led by Most Rev. Msgr. Vicente Hilata, P.A., VG. were also Eucharistic celebrants during the mass.
The couple’s principal sponsors were Bunye, Rafanan, Villar, Dr. Nilo Rosas, Dr. Oscar Bautista, Dr. Mona Valisno, Dr. Rosalina Fuentes, and Sr. Flor Pauline Duran.
The Orosco couple had a two-day reception – the first day to accommodate visitors coming from Manila and the second day, for their constituents.*
