COMELEC reminds public on liquor ban
The public is reminded to observe the liquor ban that started October 24 up to midnight of October 25 for peaceful and orderly barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections next Monday.
This is based on Comelec Resolution No. 5096 that warns against selling or taking liquor on the designated dates.
The sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages are prohibited so as to maintain peace and order as candidates are now in the thick of their campaign.
Meanwhile, Malacañang has cautioned the candidates not to resort to violence and killings or other undesirable means just to be elected into office, as serving the people does not end with getting elected.
Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said candidates should go slow and not be too emotional and excited and asked everybody to help ensure that the coming elections will be clean and reflect the genuine sentiments of the voters.*PIA
