Eco-Forum sets national summit
The Eco-Forum Philippines Unlimited will conduct a National Solid Waste Management Summit for government agencies involved in the implementation of the Solid Waste Management Act on October 28 and 29, at Punta villa Resort in Iloilo City.
Eco-Forum convenor Rogen Dal said the summit is in line with the 10th year implementation of the Philippine Ecological Solid Waste Management System.
Dal said the summit is necessary as problems and constraints on less priority placed by key players in the implementation of the Law, are increasing coupled with negative impacts on health, sanitation, environment and tourism.
Among the objectives of the summit are to clarify the specific roles, functions and responsibilities of national government agencies on Republic Act 9003 implementation; to know the latest strategies of resolving wastes problems; to set definite direction on stages of R.A. 9003 implementation; and, to enhance the capability and commitment of stakeholders.
The Summit is also jointly undertaken by Philippine Environment Advocates, Green Advocates and Environment Lawyers.
