Drug problem in Capiz serious–PDEA
ROXAS CITY – Capiz province has a serious problem in illegal drugs, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6.
PDEA 6 Investigating Agent Paul Ledesma, who was at the press conference Tuesday held for the recapture of top illegal drug personality Sulpicio Marcelino, said he remembers that PDEA pulled out its agents in Capiz several years back because they were outnumbered.
He said there are big-time illegal drug personalities in Capiz and certain politicians support them but he did not name them.
Ledesma also urged the local media to do their share against the proliferation of illegal drugs.
He said that narco-politics in barangay elections is worse than in national and local elections.
The fight against the illegal drug menace does not involve only the PDEA and the police but the community as well, Ledesma added.*
