300 policemen to maintain festival’s peace and order
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz Police Provincial Office and the Roxas City Police Station has assured revelers of the Sinadya sa Halaran 2010 of peace and order during the six-day festivities that will begin Friday.
Chief Insp. Orlando Colisao, CPPO chief operations officer, said they are mobilizing 80 percent of their workforce to ensure security from start of the events on December 3 up to its culmination on December 8, feast day of the Our Lady of Immaculate Conception.
Colisao said some 300 policemen will be deployed in various places to prevent untoward incidents or crimes and to ensure that the activities will not be disturbed or disrupted.
They will also assign security personnel at the Roxas City airport and at the seaport in Brgy. Culasi, he added.
CPPO intelligence operatives will also conduct monitoring operations around the city.
Colisao said each police station from the province’s 16 towns will also deploy augmentation forces to beef up the festival’s security operations.*JEC
