Sudan-trained cop commended
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz Provincial Board on its special session Friday passed a resolution commending Police Officer 3 Emmanuel de Asis for being the first and only Filipino police trainor and advisor in the United Nations-African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan.
De Asis, who was sent by his unit for a week-long training in Darfur, Sudan, graduated at the top of his class of 100 participants composed of different nationalities from UN member-countries worldwide.
“With his exemplary performance, De Asis serves as a living paragon of virtue among Filipinos particularly Capiceños to strive for excellence,” the resolution authored by Board Member Eduardo Magallañes stated.
“This notable achievement of PO3 de Asis likewise illustrates that Capiceños have the capacity to excel, only if given the opportunity, in the wake of global competitiveness,” it added.
The resolution also stated that De Asis serves as a model not only to Filipinos and Capiceños but most especially to the members of the Philippine National Police.
De Asis was born on Dec. 20, 1969 in Roxas City to Eleuterio of Pontevedra and Lucy Ballos of Panay. He is married to Kristie Mae Enate with whom he has a son, Anthony Peter.
He finished his Bachelor of Science in Fishery Education at Capiz State University and completed his Bachelor of Laws at Central Philippine University.
De Asis placed second in the police officer entrance examination with a rating 92.42 percent.*JEC
