3 Capiz info officers get awards
ROXAS CITY – Three government information officers in Capiz were recognized by the Philippine Information Agency 6 as among the Best Performing Information Officers in Western Visayas for 2010.
The awardees are Mary Jane Amigo of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp., Edward Basilonia of the Capiz Provincial Press Bureau, and Police Officer 3 Donna Asmod of the Capiz Police Provincial Office.
PIA Director General Jose Fabia, Deputy Director General Virgilio Galvez and Regional Director Ma. Janet Mesa conferred the awards yesterday during the year-end conference of information officers in Iloilo City.
Fabia and Galvez were the guests of honor during the event spearheaded by PIA 6.
The three awardees were among the six finalists from Capiz who vied for this year year’s awards.
The three others are Marlon Garbo of the Bureau of Fire Protection, Jeoffry Espiritu of the Provincial Health Office and Carlette Pretta of the Department of Agrarian Reform.
The six nominees are members of the Capiz Association of Government Public Information Officers Inc.
Mesa said the event is in pursuit of the thrust for transparency, accountability and effective governance through effective information and communication of the programs of the government.
The year-end conference is an annual gathering of information officers from the various national government agencies, government owned and controlled corporations and local government units in the region.*PIA
