Visit local tourism sites during holidays–DOT
The Department of Tourism 6 is encouraging the locales to visit various tourism sites in Western Visayas during the December holidays.
Tourism Regional Director Edwin Trompeta is inviting Ilonggos to visit the nearest tourism avenue and sites in their town and province.
He said that it’s high time the Ilonggos appreciate the tourism destinations in the region, and bring friends and guests with them.
Trompeta said all Ilonggos must become tourism ambassadors by visiting the wonderful sites, and sampling the products of neighboring towns.
This way, they can best sell Western Visayas to foreign friends and tourists, he added.
He also said this will improve the economy and promote domestic tourism, livelihood and small and medium enterprises.
Notable places to visit include beaches, hot springs and the countryside in Panay and Negros Island, along with old churches, restaurants and spas.
Many Ilonggos are not aware of the breathtaking destinations in their own town and province, Trompeta said.*PNA
