Drug peddler nabbed
An notorious drug peddler was arrested following a buy bust operation in Lapuz, La Paz district, Iloilo City Monday evening.
Suspect Allison Villarina was arrested by members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 after he handed a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.
Atty. Ronnie Delicana of PDEA 6 said they set up the transaction to buy shabu from the suspect in the morning before their operation.
An exchange of call and text messages followed between the PDEA informant and the suspect.
An entrapment operation was then mapped out after the informant and the poseur-buyer convinced the suspect to hand them the shabu in Rizal St., Lapuz.
Several minutes before the transaction, the suspect changed venues and later settled to deliver the drugs some 200 meters from the area he originally set.
On board a taxi, the suspect handed a sachet of shabu to the poseur-buyer.
After the transaction, the PDEA operatives, who were inside a vehicle parked across the road, arrested the suspect.
When he was frisked, Villarina was also found with another sachet of shabu and the marked money he received from the poseur-buyer, along with various identification and ATM cards.
Delicana said that Villarina is on the PDEA list of illegal drug personalities for some time now.*
