Firmalino retains Liga post
ROXAS CITY – Clemente “Budong” Firmalino was reelected president of Provincial Liga ng mga Barangay Federation in Capiz in a closely-contested election held Friday at Lolit Eco-Park in Dao, Capiz.
Firmalino of Lakas/Ugyon Kita Capiz won by a single vote, 9-8, against Lilia Demalata of Panitan, candidate of the ruling Liberal Party.
His group also swept the other posts with Wilfredo Laysa of Mambusao, winning as vice president, and Sunny Gabucayan of Tapaz as auditor.
Elected to the board of directors were Tomas Yap of Dao; Darlyn Palomo, Dumarao; Danilo Baydo, Panay; Vicente Montorio, Jamindan; Ma.Victoria Gialen, Ivisan; and Rosalie Flores, Cuartero.
Firmalino thanked all his supporters who have expressed trust and confidence in him to head the Provincial Liga anew.
He said he will do his best to unite its members despite their political differences for the betterment of the organization.
Firmalino, village chief of Poblacion, Dumalag, is a nephew of Atty. Fredenil Castro, former second district congressman and husband of incumbent Rep. Jane Tan Castro.*
