BIR taps academe for tax campaign
The Bureau of Internal Revenue Region 11 in Iloilo City has underscored the role of students and the academe as potent partners in the tax campaign.
Regional Director Glen Geraldino said students should be aware of the how tax affects their future.
He said students also pay taxes every time they buy items with Value Added Tax, adding that they can be an effective tax collection partners if they request and insist for receipts.
The BIR is also urging universities to create tax awareness among students.
The academe can develop the students attitude towards correct payment of taxes.
Geraldino was the guest during the lecture-forum on “Taxpayers as Catalysts of Change towards National Development” held recently at the Central Philippine University.
Topics included the purpose and works of the BIR, the rights and responsibilities of tax payers.*PNA
