Farmer’s Contact Center to open next month–DA
The Department of Agriculture 6 said its Farmer’s Contact Center (FCC) will open next month to address various queries of farmers, cooperative and guests regarding all agricultural matters.
DA Regional Technical Director Remelyn Recoter said they are currently compiling and completing existing data on various agriculture programs.
These include information, records as well as available materials on rice, corn and other crops, fertilizers, irrigation, loans, livestock and new technologies.
She said they are having a hard time cataloguing and sorting the data, especially on the frequently asked questions about the DA’s major agriculture thrust.
The DA 6 is also collecting data from its technical experts, commodity resource persons and farmer-scientist who are based in the region.
Recoter said she hopes the data needed for FCC, which will also serve as a databank of agriculture programs and projects, will be more than enough by the time it opens.
Juvy Gaton, chief information officer of DA, said the FCC will serve as a one-stop-shop information center for all agricultural projects and programs in the region.
The FCC will be located in the regional office of the DA in Iloilo City.*PNA
