Driver who killed two kids in ‘hit and run’ still missing
Investigators have yet to identity of the driver of a truck who hit seven children and their adult companion early morning Saturday along the highway of Brgy. Jalauod Sur in Zarraga, Iloilo.
Reports from the Zarraga Police Station said an Elf truck ran into the victims who just came from a dawn mass.
Two of the children Jenovel Plana, 11, and Jonathan Toledo, 14, died at the hospital.
The other victims are Sara Mae Plana, 5; Rachel Dilag, 13; Beverly Bermas, 11; Jicel Sitao, 13; Raymund Plana, 10; and Raymund Garcia, 20.
The eight are residents of Sigangao village in Zarraga.
Investigators, who said parts of the truck’s green bumper were found along the road, theorized that the truck could have been traveling through a Ro-Ro facility.
Gloria Octaviano, who is living in the area, said she heard children singing before she heard a thud, prompting her to go out and check what happened.
She said the driver did not stop or even slow down after the accident.*
