RPA-ABB vows "revenge" on victim of NPA execution
Iloilo -- The hierarchy of the Revolutionary Proletariat Army - Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB) came out to condemn former comrades in the New People"s Army (NPA) for the latest execution of a disgruntled member.
In a press statement, RPA-ABB said the death of Rufino Cadugo alias Rocky will not be left unpunished as it vowed to seek revenge and avenge his death in the hands of his executioners, unknown members of the communist terrorist NPAs.
Cadugo"s death was believed to have been caused by his decision to break-away from the NPAs. As such, the RPA-ABB said justice will be sought not the "NPA-way" where they will engage in a criminal act like ordering the killing or execution of an innocent target. "Revenge" will come, they said, in the form of a strengthened resolve to further the cause against the CPP-NPA group.
In Iloilo, problem of insurrection persists though government agents are quick to add that the situation and supposed NPA-strongholds are way under control. Military offensives have since been established in hinterland barangays as year-round close watch of government and major installations are made.
The RPA-ABB were welcomed into the folds of the government following peace talks established between top RPA-ABB figures and the government peace panel. Once part of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP)- NPA, the RPA-ABB"s alliance with police and military work on peace and order security efforts have been highly criticized by the former saying they have become rogue agents for the government.
