Iloilo -- A petition for habeas corpus was filed by the matriarch of the Tan family over the celebrated Zayco-Tan case. Raffled off to Family Court of Branch 30 6th RTC, Filipino-Chinese businesswoman Conchita Tan thru counsel sought that all of the surviving Zayco-Tan children be presented to Court.

CTO hopes to collect higher amusement tax in Iloilo Coliseum
City Treasurer Katherine Tingson expects an increase in the amusement tax from the cockfighting games at the Iloilo Coliseum in relation to the Jaro fiesta. In 2005, the city has collected a total amusement tax of P354,329.71

DENR requires Boracay developer to protect 'flying foxes'
An investigation team headed by Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Regional Executive Director Julian D. Amador required the developer of Shangri-La Resort in Barangay Yapac, Boracay Island to submit a Development Program addressing flying foxes and other wildlife found in the area, after a technical conference held recently.
Aklan tourism is now a P4-billion industry
Kalibo, Aklan -- Tourism, said Aklan Governor Carlito S. Marquez in his recently-delivered "State of the Province Address (SOPA), "continuous to be an anchor industry of our province.
