"The supplemental feeding project is needed to address hunger and malnutrition," said OIC Regional Director Teresita S. Rosales.

Municipalities covered in Aklan are Buruanga, Lezo and Tangalan; municipalities of Anini-y, Barbaza, Belison, Sebaste and Libertad in Antique; Jamindan, Mambusao, President Roxas, Cuartero, Dao, Dumalag, Ivisan, Maayon, Pan-ay, Panit-an, Pilar, Sapi-an and Sigma in Capiz; Tubungan, Badiangan, Batad, Bingawan, Mina, New Lucena, San Miguel and San Rafael in Iloilo; Don Salvador Benedicto and San Enrique in Negros Occidental.
The project will be implemented for 42 days through provision of a hot meal (consists of rice and viand that includes vegetables) and milk which will come from the National Dairy Authority. The feedings will be done in day care centers.
"We used to implement the Food for School Program. Since this is now fully implemented by DepEd, we move on with the implementation of supplemental feeding," added Salvacion Gayoma, Nutritionist of DSWD6.
