IPPO intensifies anti-robbery drive
The Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) is intensifying its anti-robbery and holdup campaign as it anticipates an increase in crime rate as Christmas season nears.
IPPO Director Ricardo De la Paz in an interview said that he already directed the chiefs of police in the 42 towns and one component city of the province for the intensified anti-crime campaign.
De la Paz said that three holdup incidents already happened in more than a week with the perpetrators immediately apprehended by the police following a hot pursuit.
The police official noted that the perpetrators do not belong to syndicated groups.
"These lawless elements knew that employees are now receiving the bonuses and the businesses are upbeat because of the circulation of money," Dir. De la Paz said.
He said that the police must be on alert to curb robbery and holdup incidents in the province. (PNA)
