Regular city employees to receive P15T extra bonus
Regular City Hall workers are set to receive P15,000 each as extra bonus from the city government this December.
The release of the extra bonus only awaits the issuance of a memorandum circular from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for the release of funds.
The amount of the extra cash bonus intended for regular City Hall workers was increased by P3,000 after the financial team of the city government was able to identify additional available funds for the employees extra cash bonus. Originally, the plan was only to give P12,000 extra cash bonus for regular employees.
Earlier, Mayor Jerry Treñas announced the plan to give a P12,000 extra bonus to each regular employee pending the advice of the budget and management department. Days later, Treñas issued another statement in increasing the extra cash bonus to P15,000.
Aside from the regular City Hall employees, the city's 180 barangay captains will also receive P4,000 bonus and P3,000 for each SK chairman, barangay kagawad, barangay treasurer and secretary.
The release of cash bonus for barangay officials has been a yearly undertaking of the city government. It was not immediately known on whether the barangay health workers will also receive extra bonus.
Meantime, city government is all set to give another round of 10 percent salary increase to the regular and casual employees effective July 2009. The salary increase would be taken from the 2009 supplemental budget.
The salary increase is provided in a DBM memorandum as per instruction of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for all local government units to give 10 percent increase every year for five years starting 2006 until 2010.
