One killed, another injured in Sta. Barbara shooting
One person was killed while another one was injured following a shooting incident at Brgy. Talanghauan, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.
Reports said that the fatality, 26-year old Raymundo Espadon, and his friends were drinking inside his house when the incident happened.
Two suspects, one of whom was later identified as Joecel dela Rosa, went near the group and shot the victim.
Espadon was hit near the breast through and through his lower armpit.
A certain Marterio, the victim’s drinking buddy, was also hit by a stray bullet.
He was hit on the stomach.
They were rushed to Ramon Tabiana District Hospital in Cabatuan town, Iloilo.
In a follow-up operation, dela Rosa was arrested but his companion remains at large, as of press time.
According to Sta. Barbara Police Station chief Senior Insp. Elmer Armada, old grudges triggered the incident.
It was gathered that Espadon’s uncle rapped dela Rosa for frustrated murder last month following a hacking episode.
Aside from the said case, Armada said that the suspect is facing another criminal case in Maasin town.
