PhilHealth releases check-refund in Guimaras
Members of PhilHealth who are living in Guimaras can now claim their Benefit Payment Check at PhilHealth Member Assistance Center situated at Guimaras Provincial Hospital.
Marilyn C. Geduspan, PhilHealth Regional Head, said that they are exploring ways and means to expand the services by possibly providing additional manpower in order to improve PhilHealth services to the PhilHealth universally covered province. Without the Service Office (SO) in the island, members have to traverse to Iloilo in order to do membership transactions, payment of premium contribution and claim their PhilHealth refund.
The refund is in the form of Benefit Payment Check as reimbursements for the expenses incurred during hospitalization, in buying medicines and supplies which were not provided by the hospital pharmacy or adjustment of hospital bill of the confined member or dependent.
After 60-day of claim processing period, PhilHealth sends out notices advising PhilHealth members to proceed to the Service Office (SO) and claim their check.
All PhilHealth benefit checks are system generated to member as payee. Except, when one is deceased or incapacitated, an authorized representative is allowed provided the proper and required documents are furnished to support the change of payee favoring the next of kin.
As to member’s address, the place indicated in the Claim Form 1 is followed. So, it is very important to write down the present (mailing/domiciled) address in the Member’s claim form. This is to ensure the immediate delivery of any communication as well as to determine the place for the release of check.
In claiming refund, a member should have to present at least two IDs or other legitimate documents as proof of identification the same are required with the authorized representative, to shun with fraudulent claims. (Larry Tabsing)
