CEH tops dengue patients admission
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz Emmanuel Hospital has the highest number of dengue patients admitted among the hospitals in Capiz.
The Provincial Health Office reported that CEH has 573 dengue patients admission as of August 7.
By August 13, however, the number has reached 680, a hospital official said.
He said many of the dengue patients are serious and their cases were referred by other hospitals to CEH.
CEH is followed by Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital with 415 dengue patients; St. Anthony College Hospital, 286; Dao District Hospital, 153; Bailan District Hospital, 147; and Capiz Doctors’ Hospital, 79.
CEH administrator Jessie Contreras had earlier said that for humanitarian reason, the hospital does not refuse patients from other hospitals.
The CEH utilizes even its hallways, alleys, and chapel to accommodate patients.
DENGUE DEATH TOLL
A total of 13 patients have already died of dengue in Capiz, including a two- month-old baby boy from Pilar town.
Roxas City still has the highest incidence of dengue victims with five deaths and 606 patients.
It is followed by Dao, with 160; Pontevedra, 122; Panay, 117; President Roxas, 102; Cuartero, 75; Dumalag, 94; Dumarao, 42; Jamindan, 43; Maayon, 79; Mambusao, 65; Panitan, 91; Sigma, 56; Tapaz, 22; Pilar, 95; and Sapian, 17.
Earlier, Capiz province was placed a under the state of calamity to enable its local governments to use their calamity funds to help the dengue patients and contain the dengue cases.
The Roxas City government under Mayor Angel Alan Celino has also declared a dengue outbreak.*
