Ombudsman to bring gov’t services to Capiz
ROXAS CITY – The Office of the Ombudsman will bring the services of various government agencies to Capiz on August 31 and September 1.
Western Visayas Associate Graft Investigation Officer Evangeline Nuñal said the project aims to bring different government services closer to the people.
Nuñal said through the project dubbed “The Ombudsman Caravan of Government Services,” more people, particularly those who are poor and far will be given access to the various government social services.
Thirty-six national government agencies and government-owned and controlled corporations have already confirmed their participation.
Among those agencies are the Government Services Insurance System, Professional Regulations Commission, Department of Foreign Affairs, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Nuñal said that more than 300 volunteers will also come to Capiz for the medical and dental mission on September 1 at the Capiz Gymnasium.
While the Office of the Ombudsman is finalizing the activities for the two-day event, they have already included the seminar on public accountability for government officials and employees as well as forum for local chief executives with the top officials from the Office of the Ombudsman.
Gov. Victor Tanco has expressed gratitude to the Office of the Ombudsman in Region 6 for leading the caravan that would benefit more people, particularly those from the far flung areas.*PIA
