CPPO opens mini-olympics
ROXAS CITY – The Capiz Police Provincial Office kicked off its 2010 mini-olympics games on September 14 at Camp Teodorico Apil to promote camaraderie among policemen through sports.
The activity is in line with the Philippine National Police’s Physical Fitness and Sports Development (Sports Competition Training Component Mini-Olympics).
It is participated by five clustered teams of policemen provincewide coming from Roxas City Police Station, Provincial Public Safety Company, and three teams from clustered town police stations.
A parade and short program at the CPPO grounds started the ballgames competition set to end on September 24.
“Our work demands for it, we must always have a sound mind and body to become effective law enforcers,” Senior Supt. Renato Gumban, Capiz police director, said.
The sports competition is instituted by the CPPO among its policemen to ensure a healthy and fit police force in the campaign against criminality and terrorism at the grassroots level.*
