Tourism officers group induction set Sept. 24
ROXAS CITY – The oathtaking of the 2010 officers of the Organization of Tourism Officers of Capiz (OTOC) will be held on September 24 at Gaisano City mall here as part of the activities for the Provincial Tourism Week.
Pontevedra tourism officer Jinky Lynn Contreras will lead the OTOC officers as president.
OTOC was established to muster the support of the municipalities in pushing for tourism development.
The other officers are: Norma Chavez (Jamindan), vice president; Teresita Argame (Pilar), secretary; Frederick Oleo (Sapian), treasurer; Helen Diocera (Panit-an), business manager; Wilson Dalid (Dao), public relations officer; and Rolly Miguel (Sigma), auditor.
Tourism Regional Director Edwin Trompeta and Capiz Gov. Victor Tanco Sr. are expected to grace the induction rites.
Other activities in the week-long celebration include the 5th Provincial Convention of Hotel and Restaurant Management and Tourism Teachers and Students, WOW Capiz Photo Exhibit, Pasundayag sa Baybayon, cooking contest, Baybay Beach Clean Up, trekking/hiking and tree planting.
The provincial government will also launch the “House of Wellness” that will feature the traditional Filipino massage called “hilot” at the Dungog Indigenous People’s Village at Villareal Stadium.
The celebration will be capped by sundown cultural performances dubbed “Pahigbuk” on September 30 at the Capiz Provincial Park.*PIA
