Lending firm collector robbed
Two employees of a lending institution lost some P20,000 to two robbers Wednesday noon in a secluded portion of Gaub village in Cabatuan, Iloilo.
The victims were Jenelyn Ramos, 28, collector of LifeBank Foundation, and driver Archie Velarde, 27.
On board a motorcycle, the two were waylaid by masked armed men after doing their collection duties at Brgy. Consolacion, San Miguel town.
The suspects, who covered their faces with cloth, poked a gun at them and took their collection money.
The robbers then took their motorcycle and used it as a getaway vehicle.
Witnesses said the robbers proceeded to Brgy. Tabucan and took the access road going to the Iloilo Airport.
From the airport, they boarded a taxi.
Cabatuan police chief, Senior Insp. Alejandro Apostol, said they are still conducting an investigation to verify the suspects’ identities.
He noted though that the employees of the Lifebank Foundation failed to log-in their destination as what other lending company employees do, when they made their rounds in Cabatuan area.*
