Student stabs GF, self inside motel
A college student stabbed his girlfriend and himself inside a motel in La Paz, Iloilo City yesterday morning, police said.
Reports said Mark (not his real name), 20, hurt the girl, 17, who planned to leave him.
Both are engineering students of a university in Iloilo City, police said.
The couple entered Katrina Lodge at around 3 p.m. of Wednesday, and witnesses said the couple were already arguing at that time.
Both stayed overnight, and the girl said when she woke up at around 5:30 a.m. the next day, she saw “Mark” holding a double-bladed knife.
She first thought “Mark” would not hurt her but then he said “sorry” and stabbed her on the back. He also stabbed himself on the stomach.
The girl called for help and the motel personnel sought police assistance and brought them to West Visayas State University Medical Center.
As of press time, the girl is in a stable condition while “Mark” underwent surgery.
