Hercor College HRM students showcase skills in cake contest
ROXAS CITY – The Hercor College Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) students showcased their baking and decorating skills in the school’s recent Fondant Cakes Exhibit and Contest.
The cakes are tasty and baking could be a source of livelihood of the students after they graduate, school founder Jose Hernandez said.
Jessen Ledesma, HRM faculty member, said 17 groups of students participated in group category while 91 students joined the individual category.
In individual category, the first prize winner received P2,500; second, P1,000; and third, P500 while in group category, the first placer got P3,500; second, P2,000; and third, P1,000.
The judges were Cherry Royo, HRM department head; Angelo Blancaflor of Social Security System; and Juan Gerry Angun of Panulce.
Meanwhile, Hernandez said that Hercor College students who are undergoing on-the-job- training (OJT) abroad are already dollar earners.
He said Hercor College recently sent several HRM students to Singapore for their OJT.
