Indian firm to hire 500 workers for contact center in Iloilo City
Indian call center firm Hinduja Global Solutions will hire an initial 500 employees in November for its 2005-square meter facility at the Ayala Techno Hub in Riverside Boardwalk, Mandurriao, Iloilo City that will open in January next year.
Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog was informed of the hiring by Hinduja Philippines president Pushkar Misra who met with him yesterday.
The Ayala IT Park will open in December.
Mabilog said the new call center will provide more employment opportunities for the Ilonggos and will boost local economic activities.
Misra said their company decided to settle in Iloilo City which is a “prominent next wave city” ideal for call center locators.
“We have seen a big pool of available qualified manpower with the presence of many educational institutions in the city. We are happy to do business and grow faster here. We are happy to know that a new coal plant will be online soon,” Misra said.
The Hinduja Global Solutions has employed 14,500 workers as of 2009. It started operating in 2000 in India, and expanded in Manila in 2003. It now has 23 delivery centers across the Philippines, India, US, Canada, and Mauritius.
It has acquired businesses of major international clients with some leaders in insurance and telecom industries.*
