Council OK's ordinance regulating billboards
From now on, there would be no new construction or installation of billboards and other forms of outdoor advertisements in the city of Iloilo.

Capitol's 2006 development fund reaches P147 M
The Province of Iloilo is set to work on over P147 million in provincial development funds for programs and projects that promises to bring in new hospital buildings, a lot of "priority drugs and medicines," milk for Iloilo's 2nd and 3rd degree malnourished children and infrastructure work.
Solo perfect attendance, less Resolutions for prov'l board in ’05 sessions
A total of 52 sessions were conducted by the Iloilo Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP) in 2005 marked by the perfect attendance of only one member who did not miss a single regular or special session, officially or unofficially. And with historical "performances' displayed by both administration and minority 'conscience bloc' board members, the 8th SP of the Iloilo Provincial Government managed to approve 196 Resolutions, 11 approved Resolutions short as compared to 2004.
Ganzon's proposed ordinance draws flak
As controversial as his father was, Councilor Jeffrey Ganzon proposed an ordinance to set free all legitimate vendors and stall holders in all Iloilo City Public Market by granting them general amnesty and absolute payment of surcharges and interest on unpaid rental fees and or charges levied and assessed on all their past accounts under certain conditions.

Starting this year, the Land Transportation Office (LTO VI) will deny registration or renewal of license of air-conditioned cars that are still using the prohibited Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) or commonly known as "Freon".

Adventist celebrate 100 yearsAdventist church in Iloilo launched its centennial year at the Fountain Area of Robinsons Iloilo last December 30. The event includes a culminating activity, a music festival, presscon among others. An awards night search for their Most Outstanding Adventists in the District at their church at Fajardo, Jaro. Prior to the event was also a caravan within the city. It's centennial year also gave more opportunities for most Ilonggos who need health care through their medical mission. |
